Nashville’s 2010 Tomato Art Fest is August 14th
2010 Tomato Art Fest; Saturday, August 14th
Celebrating the tomato! This is truly one of my favorite annual events in Nashville to attend and it is coming up this weekend. Held each year in the vibrant and trending area of East Nashville (Five-Points and surrounding), this one-day festival is packed with art, music, food, contests and more….FUN! A day of activities and meeting new people – I look forward to seeing you there!
Voted “Best Festival” in the 2007, 2008, and 2009 Nashville Scene Reader’s Polls, the Tomato Art Fest will return this year on Saturday, August 14, 2010. Located in Historic East Nashville’s Five-Points area, which has been coined by Budget Travel Magazine as “Nashville’s version of New York’s East Village,” this FREE, costume-friendly event provides a fun-filled day for thousands.
A community builder, the Tomato Art Fest has steadily drawn larger crowds with each year that passes. Last year, an estimated 20,000 came to celebrate this beloved fruit/vegetable and enjoy the day’s festivities.
The Tomato Art Fest was founded by Meg and Bret MacFadyen, owners of East Nashville’s Art and Invention Gallery. In 2004, the gallery hosted an art show celebrating the tomato in late summer, and planned a few neighborhood events to promote the show. The Tomato Art Fest proved so popular that it immediately turned into an annual, signature event for the hip, urban neighborhood of East Nashville.
Music and Events: Click link for Official Schedule
Directions: The Tomato Art Fest is held in the vicinity of the Five-Points Intersection in East Nashville, not far from downtown Nashville. The showcased Tomato Art will be showing at Art & Invention, and Tomato Events will be taking place all around Art & Invention.
Please view the festival’s website at CLICK LINK.

LOL Friday: The grass is greener…
A long-time married couple made a deal that whoever died first would come back and inform the other of the afterlife. Their biggest fear was that there was no afterlife at all.
After a long life together, the husband was the first to die.
True to his word, he made the first contact, “Marion … Marion.”
“Is that you, Bob?”
“Yes, I’ve come back like we agreed.”
“That’s wonderful! What’s it like?”
“Well, I get up in the morning, I have sex.
I have breakfast and then it’s off to the golf course … I have sex again, bathe in the warm sun and then have sex a couple of more times.
Then I have lunch (you’d be proud – lots of greens) another romp around the golf course, then pretty much have sex the rest of the afternoon.
After supper, it’s back to golf course again. Then it’s more sex until late at night. I catch some much needed sleep, and then the next day it starts all over again”
“Oh, Bob, you must be in Heaven!”
“Not exactly …. I’m a rabbit on a golf course in Arizona.”
